December 7, 2006 -- Photo of San Diego City Attorney Michael Aguirre as the guest speaker at the Rancho Bernardo Community Council. The RB Community Council meets each fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the RB Library located at Bernardo Center Drive near Rancho Bernardo Road.
Mr. Aguirre spoke to the audience for over an hour to update the issues he is working on regarding San Diego city.
Among those topics covered were--the pension litigation and the coming trial for early 2007; the Affordable Housing issue as it relates to the updated General Plan, the role and help the City Attorney's office can provide to the city's Planning Boards, the San Diego Chargers Football team negotiations for a new stadium as these financial plans impact the need for financing city infrastructure such as filling potholes in the streets and roads and water pipe repairs.
Mr. Aguirre answered many questions from the audience members as well as from the RBCC members who are elected in the month of March each year by a vote of the residents of Rancho Bernardo from each of the district regions which comprise Rancho Bernardo.
